Depression And Self-Loathing Essays -- essays research papers
Abstract à à à à à Depression strikes a large number of people around the world. It can be brought on by many things, such as childhood trauma, social issues, and drug use. The one thing that sets depression apart from many other mental afflictions is that everyone who has it may have it for different reasons and are taking different steps to remedy it. Some seek psychoanalysis while some rely on a pill to make them feel better. Others turn to self-medication, in the case of depression known as self-loathing, self-mutilation, and suicide. There are endless studies regarding depression being performed worldwide which become very specific in nature. An interesting aspect of depression that sets it apart from other psychological difficulties is that depression can be brought on a person by themselves. If people allow themselves to be victims of self-loathing, depression and its symptoms are sure to be close behind. A Literature Review on Depression and Self-Loathing à à à à à Research over years past indicates that depression is a more common affliction amongst the American people than most are led to believe. Depression is a multi-faceted adversity, as there are many things that are able to spawn it, and many things are able to come from it as well. Depression can be medically defined as a disease, and there are a number of treatments that medical professionals believe can remedy or abate the symptoms of it, although there have been numerous complaints about medical treatments designed to aid in a personââ¬â¢s struggles with depression. While self-loathing is a common precursor to depression, it rarely stops there. Next comes the full-fledged depression which in some cases is followed by self-mutilation or suicide attempts. Anti-depressant medication and psychoanalysis commonly follow. It has been found that there are some outside sources that may influence depression in a person that would not seem to have any link whatsoever to t he condition. Regardless, depression is an affliction that has been around for ages, and unless revolutionary findings are made, it can be inferred that it will be an infirmity that will plague people for time to come as well. Problem à à à à à A major culprit behind the concept of self-loathing is todayââ¬â¢s media influence on the American populace. Todayââ¬â¢s information techno... ...d has high hopes for the future, they are not likely to sink into a depression deep enough to merit psychoanalysis or anti-depressant medication prescriptions. Past events are crucial in determining whether or not a person may be diagnosed with depression in the future, for it is very rare that a fortunate person who has not had to cope with loss will find themselves suffering from symptoms of depression. One can also not expect to feel like they did before the affliction once they start taking medication to help. It is extremely rare that a person is one hundred percent satisfied with how they feel during the courses of medication to alleviate depression. It is also more likely a person will attempt suicide or self-mutilation if they are diagnosed with depression and are prescribed anti-depressants. This is one warning sign compiled with many others in what may cause youth to want to end their life. à à à à à Depression is a rather simple infirmity when it is broken down. It is not always brought about by inborn psychological problems like other mental diseases are. As simple as it may be, it is a problem that plagues a very large number of people worldwide.

Burn Burnings Thesis-Support Essay Essay
In William Fauknerââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Barn Burningâ⬠, Sartoris is torn between his loyalty to his family and an inner sense of justice. Between these two factors, Sartoris decides to warn de Spain about the barn due to his grasp on what is right at the age of ten. Sartorisââ¬â¢ sense of justice that compels him to warn de Spain about the barn are portrayed during the trial with Mr. Harris, when they arrive at de Spainââ¬â¢s mansion, and when he breaks free from his mother. At the start of the story, Sartoris is placed in the scenario of lying to the judge about his father burning Mr. Harrisââ¬â¢ farm. Sartoris displays great loyalty to his family when the Judge talks to him. When the justice compels Sartoris to tell the truth, Sartoris views the justice as an enemy (Faulkner 801). Despite his loyalty to his father, he truly does not wish to lie about his fatherââ¬â¢s actions. Faulkner captures Sartorisââ¬â¢ unwillingness to lie through the emotions of grief and despair as Sartoris thinks to himself about lying for his father (801). This inner conflict shows that Sartoris has been exposed to and religiously taught the concepts of absolute family loyalty. However, his unwillingness to lie portray his belief in fairness and justice, which is an impressive level of maturity for his age. His early understanding of right and wrong is one reason why Sartoris decides to warn de Spain. Another event in ââ¬Å"Barn Burningâ⬠that displays his sense of justice is when Sartoris and his family first arrive at Major de Spainââ¬â¢s mansion. Sartorisââ¬â¢ initial reaction to de Spainââ¬â¢s mansion is a positive one. Sartoris claims that the mansion is ââ¬Å"big as a courthouseâ⬠(Faulkner 804). Sartorisââ¬â¢ reference to a courthouse along with his feeling of peace at the sight of the mansion portrays that he has positive feelings towards the legal system, contrasting his father. He also hopes that his father will feel the peace Sartoris feels and stop burning barns. The hope Sartoris displays shows his genuine feelings that his fatherââ¬â¢s actions are wrong. This event marks the beginning of Sartoris siding his moral concept of justice in the conflict between family loyalty and justice. When Sartoris breaks free from his mother, Faulkner shows readers that he chooses to turn in his father due to his moral sense of justice. When Sartoris threatens to hit his mother if she doesnââ¬â¢t let him go, he is cementing his moral values over his fatherââ¬â¢s (Faulkner 811). Throughout the story, Sartoris is shown to have a mature concept of right and wrong, but when he threatens to hit his mother, he is confirming that letting his father burn the barn is worse than hurting his family. Breaking free from his mom symbolizes Sartorisââ¬â¢ making his presence known in the world. He knows that he will breaking family loyalty, but he choose to make his own choice and side with justice. The inner conflict between choosing his family and justice is rough for Sartoris, especially at his age of only ten. However, his strong sense of right and wrong is the final determining factor when he goes to warn de Spain that his father is burning the barn. High populated country want a huge space to live and for living better, it started to destroy the maintaining the balance between nature and human (Raaschou-Nielsen, et. al., 2013). Therefore, this research can be used to evaluate the various factors related to the high populated country. The review in this report evaluates the proof of health belongings of outdoor air pollution in developing country like Asia in the context of ongoing amendments in not only air quality but also population health. Health risks are linked with the natural as well as built environment changes as economic development happens (Beelen, Hoek, van Den Brandt, Goldbohm , Fischer, Schouten Brunekreef, 2008). Main points of argument However, it is hard to categorize the major point to arguments but there are some major points are mentioned below which can be argued in the context of topic. Air pollution is a key matter in various areas of Asia and has provoked actions to enhance the superiority of the air. Air quality in Asia shows complex relation between enhanced conduction of energy for transport and generation of power (Loomis, Grosse, Lauby-Secretan, El Ghissassi, Bouvard, Benbrahim-Tallaa Straif, 2013). The evaluation and the frame work done by researcher can be revised quickly with the help of this method. Quantitative data Quantitative research involves collecting the numerical data on which the statistical calculations can be done to draw the conclusions Quantitative approaches are utilized to make worth conclusion of the research by evaluating the various aspects regarding topic. Primary Sources Primary sources are provided the first hand information. The primary source is able to provide the current information. The questionnaire has been made and it will be represented to the junior Doctors of the hospital which are facing this issue. Secondary sources It is considered as the used material. A secondary source provides a data which is already utilized (Ellis Levy, 2017). It can be accumulated from the articles in the newspaper, research paper, magazines, journals and other available data over the Internet. Research strategy It is helpful to conduct the research program in an adequate manner so that the decided goals can be attained within tome frame (Hamilton, 2007). A systematic approach has been utilized to execute the result program because it is able to sequence manner (Gatrell, Bierly and Jensen, 2015). It focus to make the action plan for representing the every activities while conducting the research so that the possible changes can be done to achieve the target within time frame (Adler, 2015). Sampling technique Sampling is considered as the process in which the specific sets of units are chosen from the total population to make an observation. To analyze the data in an efficient manner Institute of having huge Collection of data. Random sample after which provides equal opportunity to every sample of the population (Aramberri Butler, 2013). primary research methods with justification Serial No. Primary Research Methods Justification 1 Observation An observation is one of the primary methods (Kennedy-Clark, 2013). The use of this in research to observe the reaction of people of high populated country such as country of Asia towards air pollution. 2 Surveys Surveys can be distinguished into various forms such as postal surveys, online surveys, and face-to-face surveys. Define data confidentiality has been maintained and no alteration will be done without permission of the researcher (Fullerton, Bruce Gordon, 2008). Data protection act is strictly followed by researcher and there is a certain punishment that will breach the rule and policies. It was made clear to all the participants that this research program is conducted for the purpose of academic and everyone is free to join in the research program. In the context of privacy, confidentiality and anonymity, entire anonymity was not possible. However, it has been ensured by researcher that the confidentiality would be maintained of the participants by removing any identifying characteristics before widespread distribution of information (Buschmann, Berg, Stengel, Winkel, Sampson, Trang Viet, 2008). The researcher made it clear that the name of participants would not be taken in use for other purpose and their information would not be shard to reveal their identity in any way. Anticipated outcomes and limitations In the limelight of above discussion, it has been concluded that air pollution is enhanced in high populated country due to number of people. They have begun to cut the tree and establish the industrial area in that place to earn which contributes in air pollution. Air pollution is the health hazard and it is a global challenge. It is vital in Asian developing countries because of the severe level of pollution and high density of population linked with them (Huang, Song, Li, Li Zhu, 2012). It has been analyzed that the improve air quality has measurable, substantial and integral public health benefits. It has been recommended that the efforts should be made and goals should be focused in order to control air pollution in every country. there are some common ambient air pollutant encountered in daily life of ours that is particulate matter (PM), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2). There is a tool to study that is en vironmental Kuznets curve (EKC) can be utilized for the purpose of study the relationship between economic development and the level of air pollution. The research limitations are considered as those factors which are not controlled by researcher to execute the research program. It can be consider das the shortcomings which may hamper the methodology as well as the conclusion of the research program (Pope, Mishra, Thompson, Siddiqui, Rehfuess, Weber, Bruce, 2010). The mentioned of research limitation is in the research study is essential so that the user of the research is in the knowledge of such constraints. There are some limitations are critical and on the other hand some can be avoided. The researcher can overcome some of the limitations or not but the limitations limit the progress of the research as a whole. The shortage of time is one of the biggest limitations in this research program and to overcome this situation, researcher has chosen the random sampling technique to gather the relevant data regarding topic in quick manner (McGranahan, 2012). Personal reflection During the entire process, I learned that the people are living under hazardous situation. Air pollution is one of them that destroy the fresh air from the environment. It is very important to engage yourself in some sort of mental and physical exercises so that the work do not overburden the mind and health remain maintained. In the duration of my study, I analyzed each aspect related to topic and enhanced my knowledge. I learned to observe people and learn from them. Surveys and interviews make me aware about the condition of people during the air population and I realized that it is vital for the government to take action against it so that it could not take a wide face. I believe that there is no better way than personal learning for learning the things and tactics Conclusion It has been concluded that the evidence that exposure of long term to ambient air pollution has bad influence on lung cancer, chronic respiratory disease and worst reproductive outcomes in Asia. However, wherever possible, it has been calculated the consequence estimates for the enhancement of standardized in measured pollutants. It helped to provide additional opportunities for the summarization of quantitative and comparison of outcomes. It has been reviewed that the evidence regarding health consequences of outdoor air pollution in developing Asia in the term of ongoing changes in both air quality as well as the health of population. It has been found that the risk of health interlinked with the natural and built environments amendments as economic developments happens. It has been recommended that high populated country should be regulated by the government strictly in the context of prevention of increase population and destroy tree for self purpose. Global Strategy for International Management - myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about theGlobal Strategy for International Management. Answer: Modes by which Banyan Tree hotel and Resorts will enter in Indian hotel market Market entry mode India is a totally new place for the Banyan Trees spa and Resorts; it will be very beneficial if they can enter into a joint venture or partnership. This partnership must be with an already established hotel or chain of hotels in India. So, they can enter into a partnership with any other local hotel company like the Kochi Marriot Hotel. This will help the Banyan Tree Hotels to understand and gain a firsthand knowledge about the culture and preference pattern of the Indian customers. It is with the help of this local hotel company, that some local tourists can also become a regular customer of the hotel. As Banyan Trees have never had any business chains opened up in India previously, they will require help in order to know the prevailing conditions of the Indian hotel market. Apart from knowing the market trends of the Indian hotel market, a partnership with a local Indian hotel will also enable them to know about the demands of the local customers. As the Banyan Trees have decided to open up their hotels in Kerala, they might enter into a partnership with the Kochi Marriot Hotel. This will be very helpful because Kochi Marriot hotel is a very popular and well-known hotel of Kerala. It is well known not only for its good customer service but also because of its location. It is centrally located, thus attracting a large number of tourists both from within Kerala and outside as well. It is located in the vibrant IT district of Kochi, on the campus of Lulu Mall. So, entering into a partnership with this hotel will help in increasing the popularity of the Banyan Trees. It is a known fact that in order to start their business in India and carry on with it successfully, they need a good platform. Partnership with Kochi Marriot Hotel will perhaps be a very good launching pad for their new business idea. The other advantages that the Banyan Trees Hotels will derive from their partnership with the Kochi Marriot Hotel are an increased number of customers for the spa and message activities. As the banyan trees themselves have a good expertise in the spa, this will have an added advantage for them. Kochi Marriot Hotel has a large number of additional customer facilities. They are airport shuttle, full-service spa, pool, fitness center. This will naturally be a great advantage for the banyan trees hotel because they specialize in the spa, massage and fitness activities. As the Kochi Marriot Hotel itself already has their spa and fitness activities, as a part of their key amenities, it will be easier for the banyan trees to carry on with their spa sessions as well. They will not have to spend any extra labor or time and energy to set up a separate spa and fitness outlet of their own. At the same time, they will also be receiving a detailed description of all the business tips from the Koch i Marriot Hotel itself. This partnership will be beneficial for the Banyan Trees Hotels because they will be saved from the time and energy to make a constant market research on their own. As the Kochi Marriott hotel already has a good established platform and recognition of their own, they will help the Banyan Trees Hotel in every possible way. Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts This hotel chain comes with a wide range of cozy, comfortable, warm private villas that are surrounded by beautifully decorated tropic gardens. In the midst of this beautiful pristine environment, the tourists can enjoy the soothing and calming body massage sessions and spa. These are just the things that the modern day tourists are looking for everywhere. Along with all these facilities, the Banyan Tree resorts and spa chains also take very much care about the fact that Indians are people with a rich cultural root and also have a great appetite for tradition and antique things. Keeping this in mind, the Banyan Tree hotels and spa resorts have also added several galleries and museums that sell the traditional antique items. Apart from this they also offer retail shops for the tourists to go shopping as and when they feel like. They have almost every aspect within them that are demanded by the Indian tourists. However, in order to enter into India, they need to make a thorough market research in order to find out the proper market entry mode so that they can target the right group of customers and can carry on their business following the right market strategies. Things to keep in mind while entering Indian Hotel Market The most crucial thing that Banyan Tree hotels need to keep in mind while entering India is that they must stick to what is local and what is unique. In other words, they must always try to match with the local flavors of the city. They must make a thorough survey of the specific needs and demands of the local customers and design their hotels accordingly, be it in terms of their rooms, the gardens and even the cuisines that will be served in the resorts (Lai and Hitchcock 2017). Some of the important strategies that are to be followed can be Selecting a proper location The first and foremost thing that Banyan Tree Hotels must keep in mind is selecting the location wisely. As they are totally new to India, it will be wise for them to set up their business in such a place which is already exposed to local and global tourism and also have a demand for the goods and services that this hotel has to offer. Top quality input materials As Banyan Tree is mainly a chain of hotels that will offer spa treatment sessions, it is of utmost importance for them that they must purchase the top quality input materials for all the spa treatments. It is the place where people will come for soothing their minds and toning up their body parts, hence no compromise is to be made with the quality of the products. It must be pure, fresh and totally free from any harmful materials. Medical Accommodations As they will excel in spa sessions keeping proper medical aids and dermatologist facilities on a 24*7 basis is of utmost importance so that proper assistance can be given during cases of an emergency. Simplification of the menu structure As India is a very new place for Banyan Tree Hotels, they must make things simple for themselves and for themselves and for the customers as well. There must be enough flexibility in the booking services, schedule resources etc (Lagrosen et al 2016). Offering to discount them on the spa sessions In order to attract more number of customers, Banyan Tree hotels must make sure that they are allowing a considerable amount of discounts and offers for free spa sessions to their customers. Customer satisfaction must be the top most priority of a new start-up business. Creating promotions on social media As they are a totally new business startup in India, they must make sure that they are easily reachable by all the visitors. Hence, they must open some online WebPages or some facebook pages and helpline or booking sites so that the tourists are well aware of this new spa resort startup and can accordingly see the details and the past achievements of the hotel on their online sits and book their rooms and their spa sessions accordingly. Make sure to get referrals A referral program is a must. This will help keep the customers happy and satisfied. Offering discounts and free gifts to the customers have become very common and nowadays the Indian customers are looking forward to something new, hence the Banyan Tree can try this method by which they can give several rewards to the customers and can make them aware of all the additional services that will be given by the hotel like salons, skin treatments etc. Business Expansion in India Keeping the historical context of the Indian tourists in mind and also the emotions of the tourists, Banyan Tree Hotels might expand their business in Kerala initially. This is likely to add up to the business expansion of the company because Kerala is one among the few Indian cities that have the highest tourist attractions every year. Not only the Indian tourist but the foreign tourists also visit this place in bulk amounts every year (Wirtz 2016). This will be an added advantage for the company because they will be able to target both the Indian as well as the foreign tourist at just one single goes. But as their major concern presently is to enter into India, Kerala indeed will be the best place to bring their business with (Sucher et al 2013). This is a land of sea beaches with beautiful temples and natural beauty all around. Adding an array of hotels with private villas and spa sessions will satisfy the need of a major sector of the Indian tourists because this particular secto r of tourists always looks for a place of private accommodation and some soothing and pleasing experiences like body massage, spa etc. Apart from this, they must concentrate on two important factors that might prove to be their success mantras; they are an environmental conversation and high customer satisfaction. Recommendations Thereby, it can be said that Banyan Trees will naturally gain a good advantage if they enter into a partnership with the Kochi Marriot Hotel. This is because entering into this partnership will give Banyan Tree Hotels a detailed description of the business tactics that they need to follow in India. They will be able to know the exact needs and preference patterns of the Indian customers. As the Kochi Marriot Hotel has a spa and fitness outlet of its own, it will help the Banyan Trees to know about the local flavors that they are using in their spa products, as per the taste of the Indian customers. However, there can also be some cons of this partnership as well. Like all other partnership business, there can be temporary instances of disputes. There can be problems related to the management and operations, profit shares and many others. However, this can easily be solved by careful and matured handling from both the partners and also by entering into a proper partnership contract ri ght during the initial stages of the business.
